Check this out! Interesting way to play a grand piano.  =)

But then I can't help but ponder the purpose of this reinvention. It seem like you can create similar sounds with existing instruments like the violin, cello, guitar and etc. So what makes this better than an orchestration of the other string instruments? Never the less. I really enjoyed their music. You can hear clips of it here.

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR everyone!

So this is it. Sounds like B.S.? *shrug* meant every word when I wrote it. still do actually. but we'll see if the profs. understands any of it and see through those words...see ME.

Feel free to comment...add to...or just any other thought provoking questions or ideas you would like to throw out there. Feel like having a good, thoughtful conversation. =)

Form does not follow function.

Function does not follow form.

Rather, it is a continuum;

a dialog between the two.

Then throw into the mix

Context, user, time, space, structure, light, nature….

And it becomes an eclectic collection of tensions

P u  l  l  i  n  g

In  all  directions

Desperately

Seeking order

And THIS,

Is precisely why I love Architecture.

I love Architecture’s duality.

The way it can be both a product and a thought process

                 -at the same time.
The way it blends art and science

                 -into a seamless whole.

The way it can be anything and everything

  One wants it to be

                 -granted a believable argument given.

Yet
   in the end

It will still be
   what it is

         .   .    .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   a BUILDING.

One more year.

Yet there is still so much more to learn.

But that is the beauty of architecture isn’t it?

A mind set,

A life time of learning and discoveries.

One more year.

What do I want to do with this year?

There are infinite possibilities.

I have yet to decide.

However, I do have my interests.

Urban Planning, Music, Dance, Stage Design, Performing Arts in general,

Dwellings, interactive spaces, places of learning, social responsibilities…

The key is to find out how all these relate

And can come together to form a meaningful project.

One more year.

An end and a beginning.

The start of my formal pursuit of becoming a principle.

To be a responsible, contributing, sensitive member of society,

of the profession.

But the path there will be a meandering one.

Interests in marketing, graphics, management will lead me to pursuit different roles in the field.

But in the end,

a thoughtful designer is what I seek to be.

One more year.

Do you want to be part of it?

Been writing my 5th Year Statement of Purpose….and looking up quotes since it seems to be so “fashionable” at the moment…..

I just couldn’t resist….hahahaaahaa

- Rob Daly

P.S. decided against using quotes….how about some thoughts of my own? =P  lol hope they are worth something =P       *blah to fashion*

*the unusual state of mind is due to the pile up of meaningful but never ending work, essay due (in a couple of hours), midterm (also in a couple of hours), and a high estrogen level….=P

*oh yeah! I got an A on my ARCH407 midterm. George even told me good job! =D
